How do I get started?
In the Notebooks tab, create a notebook and pick its cover. Inside it, add pages with a title, text, photos and tags. A page's date starts as today and can be changed.
How do I read the text from a photo?
In the page editor, use text reading, with the camera or with a photo from your library. The recognized text is added to the page content, and the photo is discarded. You can then fix the text by hand.
The text came out wrong or incomplete.
Take the photo in good light, with the page flat and the device steady, and get closer if the writing is small. Recognition works best with printed text; handwriting varies a lot.
How do I sort the pages of a notebook?
Pages are listed by date, newest first. A button in the notebook switches to ascending order.
What happens if I delete a notebook?
Its pages are deleted too. If you want to keep them, export a backup first.
How do I back up and take my notebooks to another device?
In Settings > Backup, export all notebooks to a .mynotebooks file and keep it wherever you like. On the other device, import the file. Importing never replaces what already exists: it creates new copies. Settings also has a size limit for the backup file, which you can raise if exporting says the file is too large.
My notebooks do not show up on the other device.
Check that both devices use the same Apple Account, that iCloud is on and that you have free space. Syncing only happens with an internet connection and can take a few minutes.
I denied camera access. Now what?
Open the device settings, find My Notebooks and turn on Camera. Without the camera you can still use photos from your library.
