Privacy policy

In short: My Books does not collect, store on its own servers or share any of your data. Your books stay on your device and, on iPhone, iPad and Mac, in your iCloud.

Effective: October 28, 2026 · App: My Books (iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android)

1. What the app stores

Books, with the compressed copies of the photos or the PDF file, titles, descriptions, tags, collections and your app preferences. This data stays on your device. The app has no server, asks for no account or login, and uses no ads, analytics or tracking.

2. Sync (iPhone, iPad and Mac)

If you use iCloud, your books sync across your devices through CloudKit, in the private space of your Apple Account. The developer has no access to that content. Storage in iCloud follows Apple's policy.

3. Android: no sync

On Android, books stay on the device only. Android's automatic backup is turned off for the app; to take your books to another device, use the export file (item 5).

4. System permissions

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device's settings.

5. Export and import (.mybooks file)

You can export all your books to a .mybooks file. It contains your books, photos and PDFs, and it is saved or shared wherever you choose; the app does not send it anywhere. Keep it as carefully as you would your own photos. When importing, the app only reads the file you open.

6. What the app does not do

7. Deleting your data

Deleting a book removes its photos or PDF from the app (and from iCloud, on Apple devices). Uninstalling the app removes the local data. Original photos in your library are not changed. Exported files stay wherever you saved them.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will be updated.
